How much does a logo cost?
Glad you asked! Before I jump into price, I’d like you to know my process in designing a corporate brand identity. You aren’t paying for just a product, it’s a service! Custom design is broken down into these following steps:
Step 1: Business Research
My typical client is a small business or start-up, looking for a brand new logo design. Before I spew out a price, I’ll have you understand what sort of work I am putting into my design process.
Firstly, I’d like to really understand your business and it’s marketing goals and target audience. What is your product or service, and how are you unique? I’ll have you fill out a short questionnaire to define your business.
I will research your competitors, and your industry to compare with other brands. How can we make your logo stand out? How do we visualize the personality of your business to speak to your target market? This is where I am able to answer these sorts of questions.
Step 2: Drafting & Initial Concepts
From there, I draft out my ideas that correspond to your vision and give it my own twist. I’ll sketch out or digitally produce some ideas behind the scenes. I pitch 3 initial logo design options.
Step 3: Feedback & Revisions
Upon presenting these initial concepts, the client has the opportunity to give feedback. Included in this package is 1 round of revisions that finalizes the logo, based on a favorite from the 3 designs. Below is an example of how one client revised the third option from the initial set:
Step 4: Project Completion
My clients receive a bundle of files of their new logo, ready to use for any application – JPGs, PNGs, and SVGs and mock ups in all colour combinations of the brand.
A step further, to really build a complete brand identity, would be to have a brand guide created. A brand guide is a document that define style rule, such as paired typography, colour usage, spacing, do’s and dont’s and overall rules on how to handle the brand. This documented is important for other designer to refer to when building branded assets for your company.
Here are some examples of some world-renowned brand guides from industry leading companies.
